Sorry for the delay, I have been in various states of druggedness and sleep for the better part of 2 weeks now. I get my MRI results tomorrow and have been in pain for too darn long.
The source of my pain and misery is obviously my own damn fault. I took a few liberties with a Jet ski that I was not fully in tune with and managed to flip the thing over as I was taking a hard left turn.
I leaned heavily into the turn, but the wind and choppy water threw me a challenge. At the apex of the turn my right knee finally gave way under the torque. As I fell off, my toe managed to get a little stuck in the rail and helped to pull my leg a little further away from my body.
I was in horrible pain and struggling to get the Jetski turned back over. My mind went back to Gary's "its real damn hard to turn these things over" statement and cursed myself for being a moran.
I did manage to get the thing tipped over, but it was waterlogged by that time and Gary Hasslehoff was on the way. Now I imagined myself in the hospital in west egypt Oklahoma signing over a $xxxx.xx to Gary for a jetski.
Thanks to some very helpful East Cobb locals we got the Jetski pulled onto the trailer, drained it, and sent it on its merry way.
We returned to the house and got ready for deer burgers. I just about OD'd on pain killers, slept through most of dinner, then held it together long enough to split the lake tournament with surf.
Afterwards we played a little cash game where I played my usual loosish game and amassed a pretty healthy stack. Two hands i remember was sucking out vs Maudie (or Special K) with J6o, and pushing with 77 preflop geting called by SpecialK and his AK. He flopped broadway and I runner runnered a FH. Good times.
That would be the last winning poker for me for the trip.
I sucked it up and limped around the rest of the visit, it was really painful, but the drinks were flowing. Truly my favorite time of the trip was sitting around the lakehouse on Saturday night, drinking copius amounts of whiskey and just chatting with the boys. That's the stuff you can not remanufacture. No matter how hard you try.
Saturday was the big tourney, and I was raring to go. Unfortunately a 8 hour sit and go doesnt necessarily fit my nature and I went down in 6th place. I donated another 2 buyins in the cash game playing my particular style of drunken donery, but you just can't buy that kind of fun in my opinion.
I do have some pictues on flickr, if you want to see them. I stole some from kat too. I have to add you as a freind to see the pics, so drop me a line or leave a comment if you want.
Wish me luck at the Doctor tomorrow and you have yourself a good weekend!
Cheers.

Okie Vegas gets skidoooo'd.
Hi guys,
I'll give you a summary of what I can remember from the weekend. I'm not sure how long this will be so bear with me.
Thursday morning I had to ride into work with the wife. Her minivan has had its final problem and I refused to fix it.
I got to the airport a little early so I obviously found the nearest bar and camped out for a few. I finished a few beers and went to the gate with about 30 minutes to spare. I figured I would plug on the laptop and watch a bit of my movie before I got on the plane. Wouldn't you know it, my dumb ass managed to forget the fucking plug to my laptop (again).
I tried to not let it bother me, last year I was able to find a CompUSA to get a new plug. Somehow I managed to forget that CompUSA went out of business.
I had a non eventful flight in which my battery died. I landed and came down the stealthy side of the terminal, but Gary had a bead on me from way down.
Everyone came out to get me, which was pretty cool. For the first time I met Joanada, Buddy, and Surf's wife 'peaches' as she was dubbed by OOOSSSSUUUU.
Off we went OZZIES to meet Ms Maudie and to partake in the worlds best chicken fried steak. This served as a great stomach base for the next 24hrs or so.
The whole gang caravan'd to Riverwind casino, where we all sat down for a little freindly 1/2. My high water mark was about 310, but I managed to piss almost all that away by 6pm rolled around. By then everyone was ready to hit the lake, except for MsMaudie who stole my mojo and ran her 2nd buy in up to about 5.
We hit the crows nest and Buddy was attacked by a paddle wielding maniac. I personally think she took it easy on him. I managed to find myself lying in the grass at one point and dumping IT from the golf cart at another. I can't say I didn't enjoy that a little.
Tragedy tried desperately to get out of our bet around 4am, but when I wouldn't let him, he went inside topass out throw up for an hour or so and left me alone, resulting in his disputable 'win' of our last longer.
Friday morning I felt fairly human, we awaited the return of MsMaudie and the intro to SpecialK, fresh from Iraq.
OSU entertianed us for a good bit by his kitty hunting prowess, but finally the gang was assembled and we were ready to hit the lake.
Tomorrow I'll enthrall you with my death defying antics on the JetSki as well as the poker table... stay tuned.
I'm done for now..I'll finish up with a hearty thanks to all those who planned, helped and came to this little event. It is certainly my cup of tea.

I left my wallet in EL Segundo
Looky here.
I had to put my disappointment behind me for not being able to play poker at WSP. I hope everything is cool with Jamie. I know there's bit of added pressure to perform lately, I'm there too.
As fate would have it, I bumped into Alceste on my way back from lunch. Totally random. He happens to work in the Financial District and was out to get some soup. I mentioned that I had plans with HoP for dinner and invited him to come along.
Fast forward a few hours and I arrive at Baby Bo's. We settle in to the bar and Jordan suggests a pitcher of sangria. I'm totally cool with sangria even though I know the sugar is gonna give me a headache. But this is good stuff, not just red wine, sugar and fruit.
I should have been tipped off when it took about 5-10 minutes to make the pitcher, but I figured, hey its probably like 15 bucks or so. After another pitcher and a shot of Patron I call for the tab and our Bar bill was over a Frankin....DOH, that's New York for ya.
We three bloggers be chewed the fat and our food for a good solid hour or so. I was less than impressed with their mole, but it was tasty enough. We said our goodbyes around 8:45.
I decided to walk the 10 blocks in the direction of my hotel to see if I could find some free wi-fi and a beer. Jordan had mentioned the SKILLZ series at dinner and with all the card talk we had, I was jonesing.
My first option after walking the 10 damn blocks was my hotel. I prodded the front desk for a better internet connection but they were hopless. Wireles only and it BLEW. She mentioned a 'lounge' on the 10th floor so I figured it wouldnt hurt to check it out.
I walk into the 'lounge' and see a few tables, 2 computers and ... nothing. I guess my definition of a louge involves cigars, scotch and scantily clad female singers on a piano. Theirs did not.
I popped back out to the street and went across to Fitzgeralds. Colin was oh so helpful getting me logged in to their wireless and hooking me up with a beer. I settled down to a table near the wall, and more importantly an outlet.
I made it into the Skills tourney and also opened up Pokerstars, I had my gamboool on and played way too many O/8 hands to remember. I fluctuated between first and last then flamed out.
I played all over the place on PS, sticking with 'other games' HORSE and O/8.
I made a nice little double + with this hand:
PokerStars Game #18521285215: Omaha Hi/Lo Pot Limit ($3/$6) - 2008/07/01 - 22:43:57 (ET)

Foxes, Fishies, and Flying
Hello again folks!
I'm gently trying to urge myself to be productive here on my little space in the internets.
As most of you know, once you take some time off from anything it's pretty hard to jump back into the game. Since writing for me is mostly catharsis, I need to push ahead when I'm feeling blogged down or blah.
Right now I'm not particularly motivated to write other than for the sake of writing, so I will just plug away and you folks will just have to bear with me.
I finally got around to downloading Firefox 3, and I've been tweaking it a little here and there. I don't know if it is actually faster. It does feel that way, but possibly that is because I deleted about 6 add-ons that I wasn't really using. I've downloaded my third theme now and can't find one better than the Default so far. I imagine a lot of developers are still tweaking things for FF3. So does anyone have any suggestions for add-ons or themes?
Add-ons I use: Adblock Plus, Firebug, Delicious Bookmarks ( del.icio.us/23skidoo ), GooglePreview, Greasemonkey, Hyperwords, Scrapbook, Stumbleupon, Sxipper.
I flung come cards over at PokerStars a good bit last week and luckboxed into some decent sized scores for myself. I'd like to get some $$$ off there and don't want to wait the 15-?? days to get a check, so if anyone wants to trade Paypal or FT $ let me know. It's really weird how I can do so well on one site and burn $ at another. There must be something tied to full moons and the mating rituals of the West African Spotted Drunken Lemur.
Its time to FLY.....
Next week I'll be back in NY. I'm hoping the NYC crew finds the time to get together and sling some cards on Monday or Tuesday. At least you guys know I'm not afraid to donate by now.....
The week after that is OKIE VEGAS. I'm once again very excited for this years festivities not excluding eating a chicken fried steak as big as my head
, check-raising locals, and passing out on the nearest chair (doh).
Thanks for stoppng by and see you (you know who you are) soon!!!

UGH
It's bad enough being sick, it's 10 times worse being sick and not being able to curl up in our own bed and go to sleep.
I'm pretty sure I have a sinus infection now. My head feels like its filled with hot oatmeal. The capper is I'm out of town and no one is here to feed me soup. wah.
Like a trooper I made it out to WSP last night. It was a small, but lively group and we played dealers choice mixed games. It reminded me of Cat's home game, but at 20x the stakes. Fun was had.
I attempted to self medicate and enjoy myself, mission accomplished. I was also hoping to erase some of the losses I've had at WSP the last few times here. No such luck, it is quite possible I over medicated.
Big thanks to Jamie for setting up the game on an off night and thanks to the NY degenerates who came and relieved me of my $. See you next time!
I'm pretty sure I have a sinus infection now. My head feels like its filled with hot oatmeal. The capper is I'm out of town and no one is here to feed me soup. wah.

Hash and re-hash
I ended up close to bubbling and I went through my notes on the 15k last night.
I have never taken the time to figure out Bodog's screwy hand history keeping, and I can't really be bothered. They need to move on into the 21st century though, geez UPDATE YOUR FUCKING GUI ALREADY!
I felt pretty good about my game last night. I was fairly focused and played with confidence. The damn cards didn't cooperate though, I wasn't given much to play with and the Jacks hand should have put me in good position for a final table run. Instead I had to scrape around and play some marginal holdings vs. large stacks. Oh well.
I've been super tired lately and just can't get motivated to stay up till 1-2AM playing the bloggerments. I've already punched my ticket and can't play enough to contend for monthly goals, so again I'm cool with playing a limited amount and playing well.
I'll be heading up to NYC at the ass-crack of pre-dawn and will hopefully be able to hook up with my good buddies et al. tomorrow and Thursday.

April Showers, or When it Rains it Pours, or Full of Sound and Fury, Signifying Nothing.
April has been a heck of a month, and like the rhyme goes I 'm really hoping the storms will nourish my life's soil and provide flowers for May and beyond.
I nearly whiffed on posting in April for various reasons.
First of most was leading an intrepid band of scientists, archaeologists, and drunks into the far reaches of Madagascar in search of the recently missing Al Can't Hang. We were hot on his trail in Egypt where he had single handedly endangered the Scarabaeus sacer because of the rumor that the beetle's blood closley resembled Southern Comfort. We cornered him in Madagascar performing rituals with the natives. He had devolved so far that his eyes we're nearly blind, his hair, ratty and curled from overexposure. He had given up SoCo and moved on to a mixture of citronella and kerosene. Here's is the last picture we took of him before his capture.
Al is now resting comfortably among his friends and family and will be ready to return soon.
I unbelievably secured a TOC seat in the BBT3 by taking down the MATH. What little poker I have been able to play has been pretty good for the rest of the month.
I managed to play a few other tourneys and got close, but no other big scores.
Work has been more of the same, possibly a little busy. I managed to hire a new employee who looks to be a real good choice. Here's hoping that first impressions last. Soon I'll be able to go back to finding clever ways of making someone else do my job.
A couple weeks ago I made my way to NYC and was able to have a pretty nice dinner with bloggerdom's soon to be rambling, gambling and writing couple. Final verdict B- mostly because CK and I agreed on a wine, and it was not so good. The company and conversation and the fact I was nicely buzzed made me not care a whole hell of alot about it.
David Williams joined the the regular boobs at the Bodog donkament. I was seated to his right at the beginning and couldn't wait to have a chance at busting him.
For some stupid reason I was moved about three hands later.... Can someone at Bodog explain moving players at the beginning of a tournament?
Lastly and most importantly, I will be able to achieve one of the goals I set for 2008. I booked my flight for Okie Vegas!!!

I pushed real hard to make this happen this year, now I'm ready to goooooooo!
Hopefully I'm more motivated to post this coming month and I'll be able to fill your lives with pointless drivel once again.
Cheers!

Nothing for a man to do but sit around and think.
I tried to come up with a title that described my current state and ended up with the opposite.
After a 2 day trip to NY which saw me unloading my hard earned cash on the friendly folks at WSP, making a really stupid deal with Jamie for 2 cases of chips, and surviving on about 8 hours of sleep I came home to more chaos, work tilt and home chores up the wazzoo.
Such is the life of your friendly neighborhood donk.
Speaking of neighborhood, the boys and I will be playing cards at the clubhouse tonight for my monthly game. Once again I'll try to run 2 tourneys and a cash game while avoiding the temptation to stay out until 4AM. If any ATLiens want to come up, then drop me a line.
I haven't played much NLHE this week, so I'm excited to jump in to a juicy game, I'm hoping tonight works out like recent Neighborhood games and supplies me with some booty for my poker coffers.
So I don't really have anything to say, same as usual. Have a good week end folks! I think I'll try and win the MegaMillions tonight...that would be pretty cool.

Late Departure
I just confirmed my travel to New York on Monday. Hopefully I can horn my way into Wall Street Poker.
Jamie is a congenial and earnest host, he confirmed he has a full table, but invited me anyway.
I'll be offering my 'celebrity' commentary services for the scheduled mixed game. Hopefully I can be annoying enough to make someone give their seat to me!
Have a good weekend kids!

Donkatopia
Yea! It's my monthly poker night in the donkahood. The worst part is I'm missign 'real' poker over at Kaja's house. Best part is, well donks + expendable $ = yay me.
Yes, sometimes I've been kicked in the junk in my neighborhood game, but I can usually count on a win in the 'hood. Wish me luck.
I'm still recovering from 3 days in New York, horribly poor sleep and a diet thart is making me grumpy 2-3 hours after eating.
I'm heading home a bit early so I can chill with the kids and mentally prepare for cards.
I hope you have a good weekend, and if you're like me and love to bet the playoffs, here are my picks:
Green Bay -7.5 AND Over 43
New England -13 AND Over 50
Indianapolis -9 AND Over 46
Dallas -7.5 AND Over 47
Yeah, all favorites and all Overs, I may be cliche' but at least I'm consistent. I'm betting the 4 games separate and will try to hit the longshot OVER parlay weeeee!

Wake up call
I came into WSP palace about 7:10, determined I would not be too early like last time. I was greeted by 3 unknown faces.
One belonged to the recently famous Rooster, one a WSP newcomer, and the other was Darko, a WSP regular. LJ was on the other side of the table as I walked in, standing next to Jamie.
After just a few minutes J, another WSP regular and Jordan came in. J horsed around with the Wii for a while and Rooster and Darko wanted to get it going.
I was downing my first of 2 energy drinks as I was dog tired from staying up too late drinking then working all day.
Eventually we got started and the action ramped up quickly as Joaquin was getting in the mix with large raises. About the 6th hand of the game I was dealt AKo and re-raised Joaquin $400 on a $150 raise. Blinds were 25-50.
I intended to buy the pot right there, but got called. The flop came with blanks and I bet out of turn. I honestly was not trying to shoot an angle or anything, I'm just an idiot. I managed to act out of turn one or two more times in the night. I'll just blame it on sake and lack of sleep.
Long story short, Joaquin folded, and I moved to muck my cards, but accidentally hit LJ's hand or arm and my cards were exposed. I can't decide if I just gained or lost respect, but oh well.
Shortly into the 2nd level LJ pushed AKo into Jaime's QQ and did not improve. She felt really bad and actually had work to do, so she left early.
Joaquin was having a tough time getting traction against a pretty tough table and ended up pushing A6h into my AKd. I managed to turn a K and Joaquin hung for a bit to deal for us.
Into the 3rd level I made a horrible preflop call vs Jordan. At the time I had a fairly healthy stack, only second to Jamie I believe. I re-raised in mid position with QJd. Jordan had made a min raise in front of me and I wanted to thin the herd.
Back around to Jordan and he pushes another ~2000. More than half my stack at the time. My brain completely forgot what to do. I couldn't put Jordan on anything, though looking back, it's obvious he was looking for a re-raise to push against.
Well, I just couldn't lay it down regardless of the fact that I'm clearly behind in this situation. At least I announced it was a bad call, but did it anyway and faced Jordan's QQ. I flopped a Jack, but diamonds were not my friend and I couldn't catch a 3rd Jack.
That hand really set me back and sent me spiraling. I went into push mode and managed to get some momentum in the 4th or 5th level.
I had another interesting hand vs Jamie when he made a big bet with AT and I pushed from the small blind with AJ. Too bad Carol wasn't there.
The flop came with AK5, then the T hit the turn, but I was saved by the K on the river. Suck resuck! woot.
Blinds were catching up to me, I bluffed Darko off a pot then he pushed the very next hand with 74d and I called my 99. Yeah, he caught 2 pair....awesome.
I still had a few chippies left but fate was not on my side as I pushed A5 against Jamie holding JJ. Despite the Ace on the flop he caught a 4 flush by the river and I was done.
Next we played NLHE for 2 orbits and 2-4 OH8 for 2 orbits in a rotation. I played well and got a few chips to play with, but I'm so passive in OH8, I managed to lose another $15.
I still call it a win, cause nothing beats having to go out of town on buisness and being able to meet up with friends and play cards, chat, and possibly get shitfaced on sake.
Cheers Folks! See you soon.

Bright Lights, Big City
When we last saw your hero he was deep in the grips of massive travel tilt.
Fast forward a few hours and your hero is calm and relaxed. It's amazing the effect a nice glass of scotch can do.
My esteemed host was nice enough to meet me in the lobby of my east side hotel. We slugged down the overpriced beer and headed towards Grand Central. We landed in a tucked away corner of Grand Central Station. The room was somewhat dim, with deep gold and garnet coloring. It had wooden accompaniments that were a mixture of middle-eastern or Moroccan with a turn of the century feel. I was under dressed.
I got back to my hotel room just an hour or so earlier and could not wait to get off the clothes I had been wearing all day. New York was unseasonably hot and I had been dressed for winter. Yes, a change of clothes was due.
I stood on the comfortable deep-ruby colored carpet and lightly sipped my 12 year old scotch in my jeans and t-shirt. At least I kept my dress shoes on. It was a nice peaty start to my semi-debaucherous night.
Our hostess arrived minutes later and the night began.
We finished our first drink and headed to the obligatory Irish pub close by. They had a decent crowd in the place, but it was easily one of the largest pubs I've been in in New York. They had Harp on tap and I was totally with it. I wub me some harp. 3 of those and a girly shot went down and my hosts had some really crappy looking bar food.
LJ was going on about a sushi and sake bar close by and I said....yum! lets go!
We wandered into this office building and headed to the basement, weirdest entry ever. Although there must be a location/coolness ratio formula for places in NY that I'm unaware of.
If its hard to find +coolness
Crazy Expensive ++ coolness
Similar Quality to what I can get in Cumming, GA at half the price -- coolness.
I keed, I keed.
It was a really nice place that happened to have the best snapper I've ever had. In retrospect, I just don't think you can possibly make a bottle of sake worth $100+. What do I know though, I'm a sake newb.
We proceeded to get good and lubricated and I luckily did not have to experience the waiter's horrible breath.
Now I know things are cooking, cause I'm forgetting details, but the last place we ambled to was another Irish pub on the way towards my hotel. More beers and shots were had and some evil person whipped out their camera, bad news. It is my goal to relieve said person of those pictures this evening.
I had a great time yapping it up and gallivanting through New York's east side with folks who know the ++cool places to go. Thanks LJ and f-train!!
I've got WSP starting in a mere 2 hours!! Wish me luck.

Mission Critical
So I arrive in NY again, with no one too meet me again. I'm used to this and have only been met by a car about 1/3 of the time I come here. No respect, I tells ya.
I'm a big boy though and I can get a damn cab myself, although it seem every time I get a cab (especially in Newark, the cabbie has no idea how the hell to get around NYC. What the fuck?
Why are you asking me how to get there dude?? isn't this your job?? How the hell can I use the shitty GPS in my blackberry to get me to where I want to go and you don't even have one?? Its sofaking stuupid!!! You know what the cabbie gets who finds my location and gets me there in a reasonable amount of time?? Thats right, a big phucking tip!
You know what you get Mr Cabbie who doesnt know how to drive or how to get there?? An angry freaking customer who just wants you to stop the freaking car so he can get out!!! CHEEZUS! Nearly every dam time I get in a cab..."which way you wanna go??" "I can take the Blah Blah express way or Whatthehell BLVD"
Just get me there as fast as you can you mental midget, DO YOUR EFFING JOB!
Ahh I feel better now. I'm tired, cranky, hungry, and bitter about everything now. I need to eat and have a tall cold one. Damn diet.!! aaarrrrghrgh.
OK, I dont feel better, but at least I vented and I'm in NY..... more later.

Wall Street Poker
I was a tad bit anxious about playing the Wall Street Game. After all, I had never met most of the people. I wasn't sure about protocol as far as bringing food/drinks, if 7 o'clock meant 6:45 or 7:30, if I was wandering onto a LAG pushfest like the Salami was on occasion, or a relaxed home game with a little direction.
I should have been prepared for an extension of my monthly Neighborhood game, minus all the drinking.
I came in to WSP palace about 15 minutes early. As I was checking in with the doorman, Jamie walked in from the street and introduced himself.
I shook his hand and felt a little sheepish about being early.
Jamie took it in stride and showed me up to his place. I gladly helped clean up a bit, then got the chips ready for the tournament as he stocked his cache of cokes, cups and plates.
Other players started strolling in, among them Dawn, Mary, and Jordan.
All in all we had 11 for the tourney. I felt pretty good early, taking a decent pot form Jordan, then played some smallish pairs vs Mary, and she shooed me away like a little nat.
I tried to get a little too creative with the deluge of bad through mediocre cards I was getting and managed to flush away most of my chips on stupid moves with draws or bluffs.
I believe I was the 3rd player out, so I sparked up the laptop and logged into FT. I signed into a 11+1 SNG, and only when it started did I realize it was PLOhi.
I stayed out of the way for the first 10-15 hands and found myself with nearly my starting stack and 4 people out already. I decided to start mixing it up a bit, and we got down to 4 fairly quickly.
We sat on the bubble for what seemed like forever. The WSP tourney came to an end and they started up the cash game (.50/1) $100 max. I paid for my chips and asked for my seat to be saved so I could finish the SNG.
Jamie and the rest of the crew were OK with that, but then another cash player showed up and I offered her my seat.
I cant say I regret it either. I ended up getting 2nd on 2 redonkulous suckouts in PLOhi. I had a 3:1 chiplead, but could not finish the drill.
So I had to wait for a seat to open in the cash game. I didn't mind at all, I got to eat some food and get a good feel for the players at the table, something I didn't get to do before the tournament.
I got to see how most of the table was playing, and got a good read on the betting structure etc.
Earlier on in the evening I overheard a conversation between 2 of the players concerning another of the cash players. They were commenting on a certain players ability to lose with mediocre hands and paying them off.
Watching the table, it didn't take terribly long to hit my target.
I was dealt KQs in the BB, there were 2 limpers and my target in the CO raised to $10. I called and the limpers dropped. The flop came QJx rainbow and I check raised. She obliged by pushing (~40). I went ahead with my read and had her outkicked. I take her at her word since she never showed, but I was off to a good start.
I took 2 more sizeable pots from her in similar scenarios, and built a decent table image, showing down winners, and betting at the pots I was in.
I had a pretty decent run of cards and had 2 more memorable hands. I called a min raise in the SB with J9 and was called by the BB. I flopped the straight (KQT) and the original bettor put out a feeler bet. It was a scary board, and I didn't want the nut straight coming along cheap. I needed to find out if he had something, so I made a pot sized raise. This really got him thinking, and he attempted to stare me down. Behind my sunglasses I couldn't decide what to do, I tried to act strong, hoping to get a rase from something like AK, KT or KJ. You know, throwing out the whole 'strong is weak' vibe, In the end he broke his stare and smiled, said "you're good" and gave up the pot.
Towards midnight everyone was getting ready to leave, so we played one last hand. I was dealt AK UTG, and made a smallish raise. I really tried to play off the 'its the last hand' vibe and got calls from most of the table. the flop came AAJ with 2 spades, and I had to bet to isolate the draws. Unfortunately no one looked me up and I took the last hand of the night.
I certainly felt better standing up form the cash game than I did the tournament. I covered the tourney entry, dinner, the cab and still had over 120 bucks profit.
After the game I was obliged to help clean up a little and left with a nice little adrenaline rush.
I really like the homegame atmosphere and would absolutely prefer playing at the WSP over an illegal club ala SALAMI. I'd like to thank Jamie again for treating me as a guest and as a regular at the same time and I look forward to the next time I'm in NYC and can play WSP again.
I'm writing this on the lazyboy, in a drug induced stupor after getting my wisdom teeth removed yesterday, so I'm sorry if I forgot some details, names or links.

Hello Brooklyn!!!
New York New York it's a hell of a town
The Bronx is up and I'm Brooklyn down
Yes, the Beastie Boys ROOL!
I'll be headed up to the great state and city this Monday (8th) through Wednesday!!
All you folk I've met before have received an email by now.
I'm up for cards and/or shenanigans. Hit me up if you have time!!!
Now back to the Beasties:
They don't know my name they only know my initials
Building bombs in the attic for elected officials
I quit my job I cut my hair
I cut my boss cause I don't care
You tried to get slick you bust a little chuckle
You're gonna get smacked with my gold finger knuckle
Cause being as fly as me is something you never thought of
You'll be sticking up old ladies with the hand gun or the sawed-off
Like a buffalo soldier I'm broader than Broadway
Keep keepin' on I don't care what they say
I play my stereo loud it disturbs my neighbors
I want to enjoy the fruits of my labor
I am the holder of the 3-pack Bonanza
If you open the book then you will get your hand slapped
I am the keeper of the 3-pack Bonanza
If you ask a question you will get the answer
Her breast I saw I reached I felt
M.O.N.E.Y. the belt
I stay at home just like a hermit
I got the jammy but I don't got the permit
Yes you got a boyfriend and indeed his name is Slick Nick
that is why Annabelle you're caught with the shrimpy limp dick trick
I ride around town cause my ride is fly
I shot a man in Brooklyn *just to watch him die*

Draggin
I'm dragging a bit today..I followed up my whirlwind trip to NY with a long weekend of drinking, horseshoes, some swimming, and more drinking. Not much to report from the trip, other than I worked harder than usual, since I didn't have a game to go to...
The weekend was nice as I spent a lot of time with the kids and some of my friends with kids as well. My wife still needs to take it easy so I'm trying to alleviate the stress when I'm at home...there's just an awful lot to keep up with.
About an hour ago I started feeling not so good. Like I'm getting a cold. I hate that feeling. I'm looking forward to a night of hot tea, Vitamin C, and ginseng.
I don't like taking pills, and I loathe cold medicine so I try to just eat right, rest, and OD on vitamin c. It usually does the trick. I have no time to be sick.
Next on the docket is a three day trip to Montreal (any bloggers there?) near mid-June, then my family reunion/vacation the following week and another trip to NYC at the end of June. Yee ha!
As for poker...I have a lot of repair to do for the online coffers. Wish me luck.

Catching up
I could really use a personal assistant. Wouldn't that be cool? Someone to get your coffee or jot down a note (or blog post) for you.
Oh man...
Now, I'm not the most motivated person in a general sense, quite the contrary. Stealing a bit of thunder from Jordan and our discussion on Thursday. I'm a man of leisure. I like to take it easy. I expend the necessary effort for the given situation.
Of course, this is all code for saying I'm really a lazy mo-fo.
I suppose it is inherent in my DNA somewhere. I go through phases where I can be extremely focused, but for the most part, I really don't care for going the extra mile.
Anyway....
New York was a fun again, I got alot of work done up there and still managed to meet up with fellow poker players Jordan and MattyEbs.
As you may recall, the last time I met up with Jordan, we split first and second at the salami tournament. This time I managed to take Jordan and Matt out in 4th and 3rd respectively en route to a first place finish again.
There's 3 hands that stick out for me. First one I'm in late position with QJo and see a free rainbow flop with nine high. There are 4 people in the pot, I have a decent stack of chips almost triple the starting 1500. Victim has a mid to small stack in EP and is steaming from an earlier beat. We check around and a Ten comes off. It checks again and I decide to go ahead and try to take it down with a 1/2 pot bet. Everyone folds to the victim and he pops it for 1000 more. At the time I think I have about 8 outs, but think I'm not that far behind of what victim might have. I put him at best with a small set, leaving me the eights and kings to win.
Something stunk though, the guy was screaming FOLD to me....it did not feel like a set. I made the call and even told the table it was a bad call. Long story short, the King comes on the river, victim (ATo) pushes to my bet and I take down a nice pot busting my first victim. Dude went into mega tilt after that, and since we were at a break I snuck into the smoke room to chill. Turns out I had a lot more outs, but I'm still not sure it was a good call.
Down to 4 players (only 2 pay) I have a huge lead over the table, and was focused on busting people..I stayed patient, but the one other player (who I had stacked in the re-buy period) Seneca was very solid-agg and liable to take any 2 cards to the mat. He raised my blind (JTs) and I decide to push. I've seen him fold to aggression, so I know I'm only getting called when I'm behind, but I really wanted him out. He pushed with 33, I catch nothing and double him up. There's plenty of reasoning I can make for the push, and I still like it especially with the amount of chips I had. However I was bummed I couldn't take him out and and guarantee a cash for at least one of our crew.
The last hand Jordan has discussed on his blog, but I'd like to add my thoughts. I had been playing a bit looser off the button, trying to punish the blinds. I semi-bluffed Matt with A4o, and showed the table. He mucked A8o i think.
A few hands later I find JTs again in the CO. I nonchalantly limp in and say to Matt, something to the effect of ' you might as well fold 'cause Jordan's gonna push'
I said this out-loud for a few reasons. First, I did not want Matt to push, I wanted to see a flop with this hand as it had vexed me earlier. Second, I wanted Jordan to know I was expecting a push, therefore I might call. Saying this at the right time, puts the thought in Jordan's head that I actually have a better hand than a limping hand and would call a push. Third, I wanted to hear it myself. I wasn't sure myself what I would do facing a push, but I did know that Jordan would HAVE to push with a very strong hand if he believed my hand might be stronger than it actually was.
Jordan checks and the flop comes with 2 tens and a king. I only had to hope Jordan had a king. We both check and the case ten hits the turn. I check and Jordan pushed. I insta-called my quads and take Jordan(Kx) out. A few hand later I take out Matty with AK/Ax and offer the 60/40 split to Seneca.
We followed that up with a walk down to the village and drink away some of my winnings.
My trip back had an interesting side note. I got to the airport about 2.5 hours early and went to ticketing. My assignment was 46d, which is something like the last row in a middle seat. So I plead with ticketing to move me forward, move me to an aisle...something, but the flight was booked solid.
This is where I employed a tactic that has been so successful in the past. First, I remain quiet. I relax, and look at the guy. 'is there ANYTHING you can do?' Then I sit and wait. I let him keep tapping on his keyboard, and do not say a thing...stay calm. CLICKETY CLACK..... 'we have a spot in first class' .
I calmly say 'well, how much can I expect to pay for that?'
He replies "about $120" BOOOK IT! I say.... cause thats just how I roll.
I saunter into the crown room, and am briefly hassled by the attendant, but this has worked for me before. I said " the attendant at ticketing said I would have access to the crown room with a first class ticket"
Again, smile, remain quiet and wait...."Well you have to be a member...blah blah blah"
"I guess its just a mix up, I say and look confused at my ticket." remain calm.
She says "we'd love to have you here as our guest today, since there was some confusion." SCORE!
So I get to sip on free Crown and water while playing poker in the crown room. Its a good thing too since my flight was delayed another half-hour. I got to win a 2 table SNG and a Token for the HOY, which I turned into a 3rd place finish!
I'm finally on the money board for the BBT!

Cooooler
Hello from 23skidoo land intrepid readers!
Everything is fairly normal around here, I finally got some fundage in my dwindling account again and we will wait with baited breath in anticipation of more stackage.
I played a tighter than usual 2 table peep yesterday afternoon and floundered around 10th, then took a shot on a 6 dollar version and took it down, peeping into the HOY
The tourney transpired like most of my MTT's lately. My timing seems to be off or something. In an interesting twist of fate, my tourney started and ended with the hammer.
First hand I'm dealt the hammer EP and smell an easy steal. I pop it up to 180 and get one caller, but the cagey dwarf made it over 400 in the BB and I had to dump it. I played my usual brand of loose/weak for almost an hour until I made my stand with the hammer and got sucked out by Aces....donkeys.
I popped into another token tourney and saw Jordan there. I played fast and loose and made the final table as chip leader, but I kept playing like a donkey and went out on 7th.
To end the night I made my buy-ins back playing .25/.50 HORSE and RAZZ.
Talk about free money....
I'm off to the BIG CITY at the crack of freaking dawn tomorrow for a whirlwind tech support and poker visit. I'll be hooking up with the aforementioned Jordan on Thursday, and whoever else we can scare up in NY for the Salami game. Hopefully I can keep up with my NY successes and bring home more money than I leave with.
I'll try to have a trip report up before Monday and I'll do my best to make the MOOK and Kat's friday tourney.

Fifth Street Blues
OK, Let me try this again, not that this is interesting in the least, but one must keep up appearances lest one fall off the face of the earth.
To explain, I write my posts in textpad copy, paste and edit them in blogger. Works like a charm 99.999% of the time for me. I was extremely busy yesterday, so I wrote my post, cut the text and pasted into blogger and submitted. I flip to another tab in firefox and I notice after awhile the little round busy dealy is still spinning on the blogger page. I go back to discover a blank page....ugh. No problem, I can just paste back into textpad and repeat. WRONG. I had copied a link, thus losing my post. So I have to place a small bit of blame on myself for being impatient.
Lesson Learned.
As I was trying to say, Friday was poker night in my donkahood, we played 11 handed for the first tourney and split to 2 tables of 6 for the second. I played very tight (yeah right) in the tourneys and got sucked upon in both of them, and no... no reach around was offered or anything, just pure un-adulterated fonkeyness to which BUTCH can attest.
I had the situations laid out in my other post, but now it doesn't matter. I put my chips in ahead in both circumstances and was thrown the doom switch by live cards. Bubble boy in the first tourney and 6th in the second.
Afterwards we played 1/2 limit in which I further offered my rectum for punishment.
Now isn't that a pleasant vision?
I had some more clever things to say or at least one clever thing, but I forgot.
I'm running near empty again on FT, go figure..I take more swings than Ann Heche and Mike Tyson combined.
I'll be in New York next week, but I'm not sure if I'll have time for social behavior. On the off chance, Thursday would be the night I could possibly do a meet and greet with fellow bloggers and possibly throw some cards around time permitting. So drop me a line if you might find yourself in the city without plans on the 26th.
and Hey! You be careful out there*
*my lame ass attempt at a tag line ala G-cox. sad aint it?

Panic on the streets
After a few cocktails, I decided it was best just to head back to the hotel. I paid my tab and started walking down the street. Well, I thought to myself it might be a good idea to see if I could find a place to get a 6-pack and maybe rent a movie to pass out to.
I get to Fifth Avenue and take a look to the left. I see a line of folks coming out of a building a little ways down, so I naturally decide to investigate. I walk down the avenue, visions of seeing the beautiful people packed in a trendy New York club. I get a half block away and realize its a bunch of sheeple standing outside the Empire State Building.
No worries, cause there was a CVS close by. I wanted a smoke and to see if I could make the 6-pack thing happen. Low and behold CVS had cold single beers and 12 packs.....what's a thirsty boy to do? Duh, go for the twelver of course!
I decided at that point that it may just be a long night for me. I grabbed the drinks and smokes and head back to the confines of my room. I noticed on the way in that there was a large contingent of folks going in and out of the place across the kabob place. I registered it for some reason, thinking it was strange.
Back in the cool closet disguised as a hotel room, I fired up the TV and browsed around. I didn't feel like a movie, or TV, or even Nintendo.
I couldn't resist much longer....I needed cards to complete my holy trinity of degeneracy.
I slipped on my slippers, stashed a beer in my pocket with my smokes and head outside. For some reason I had it in my mind that there were shenanigans afoot at the Kabob place. I really wanted to check it out.
I stepped outside and strolled down the block sipping my beverage and dragging off the cig. I took a conspicuous spot across the street and watched.
Lots of cab drivers coming in and out..they were just getting food. Why the heck was this place packed?? I couldn't resist. I finished the beer and head across the street into a heavy curry fog.
I didn't take me long to figure out I was wrong. I walked past the food counter into a room with several televisions on the wall. Here all the guys sat, talking in their native tongues. Few took notice of me, but I was fairly freaking sure there were no cards going on here, and if there was; I was not on the guest list.
So I turned and realized I had to save face to the imaginary people that were now watching me. I had to order some food, and did, even though I had no intention of eating it.
I quickly paid then fled to the relative safety of my hotel room. There was no way out, I 'needed' to play some cards now, I had no choice. I fired up the old laptop and downloaded FT for the umpteenth time on this laptop.
I unfortunately forgot to save any hand histories of my play, does anyone know of a way to get hand histories from FT if you did not select to save them? I e-mailed support, but who knows if I'll get a response.
Anyway, I played in a $10 and a $20 SNG, and got 3rd in the $10, but I was bored and feeling frisky, so I decided to look for a cash game.
In my stupor, I decided to fire up the 8/16 HORSE table that had Keith Sexton on it. There were only 5 people there when I sat, with rolls between $150 and $500. I joined in with 300 just to play a few hands for the hell of it.
I can only imagine I was playing wild and loose, because I distinctly remember betting off several hands and taking some fairly good pots. I remember thinking to myself that I would get caught eventually and would have to leave.
I racked up about twice my buy in and Richard "the Quiet Lion" Brodie joined in. I don't remember any chat, as I was half way finished with my CVS purchase. I racked up to over a grand at the table and cashed out around $825. The angles were smiling on me I suppose.
If I get any sort of hand history, I'll have to go through it, 'cause I honestly can't remember any hands I played....pretty sad huh?
I guess thats all for now, but I am chomping at the bit to play more cards, but I have to try and wait just a little longer.
