OK, so is IGGY in vegas this weekend?

LINKY

We are looking for height-challenged female(s) (as in midget, dwarf, munchkin, little person, just don't know the correct non-offensive terminology) to help run our fantasy football draft. We will be 10 males in a suite at the Mandalay Bay drafting for four hours on August 23th starting sometime in the late afternoon.

Your duties will be to make sure none of us run out of frosty beverages, to keep track of players taken on an oversized draft board (step stool included), and to wrestle under a glass table while either partially clothed or not clothed at all (this is why we would prefer more than one of you). Bonus points if you know something about football, know how to mix drinks, and enjoy making sure everyone is having a good time. We promise we will not degrade you by using your head for a coaster, nor will we expect any special favors as we value professionalism over anything.

Last year when I posted this ad we received an offer from a female who simply had no legs, which I determined to be cheating. So please, only true little people apply.

If interested, please respond by Friday. And don't worry about bringing anything as we will supply beverages, glass table, and rainbow with pot of gold.

Unfortunately we can not meet in Vegas for my fantasy football league. Join ANYWAY!

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL???????

I damn sure am! And if I have to see any more of Favre's stupid mug on the TV I'm going to pop a capillary.

I've set up a Pick'em League and a 12 Team Head TO head league at Yahoo so I can take your money in something I actually have some skill at.

The Pickem League is $10 and the payout will depend on the number of players I get.

The Head To Head league will be $20 and is capped at 12 players. The top 3 teams will pay out.

Here's the info you need, please send me a GMAIL at 23skidoo with your Fulltilt or Pokerstars ID and your team or pick set name, so I can keep it all straight.

BOOOOOOOOOM!

Donkatopia

Yea! It's my monthly poker night in the donkahood. The worst part is I'm missign 'real' poker over at Kaja's house. Best part is, well donks + expendable $ = yay me.

Yes, sometimes I've been kicked in the junk in my neighborhood game, but I can usually count on a win in the 'hood. Wish me luck.

I'm still recovering from 3 days in New York, horribly poor sleep and a diet thart is making me grumpy 2-3 hours after eating.

I'm heading home a bit early so I can chill with the kids and mentally prepare for cards.

I hope you have a good weekend, and if you're like me and love to bet the playoffs, here are my picks:

Green Bay -7.5 AND Over 43

New England -13 AND Over 50

Indianapolis -9 AND Over 46

Dallas -7.5 AND Over 47

Yeah, all favorites and all Overs, I may be cliche' but at least I'm consistent. I'm betting the 4 games separate and will try to hit the longshot OVER parlay weeeee!

Weekend Wrap Up and ghey bloggers football

Hello Kids, the below post was a dedication to myself for Friday. I was and played like a drunken lemur, fun was had.

I made it over to Brain's neighborhood on Saturday to play in his neighborhood game. I was tired, and unfocused and got a last minute invite to a cash game in my hood..... Excuses excuses.

I didn't play too badly. I got flushed by a shortstack when I flopped presto, then over committed with QJs on a board with Q98 one spade. Brain took me down with KK.

I didn't necessarily want to wait for the cash game, so I high-tailed it back up north to my buddy Matts house. They weren't playing poker, they were playing beer-pong.

I had a great time watching the end of the football games and playing some pong. After awhile we walked over to Alan's and attempted to play some cards, but everyone was too drunk. They eventually just shipped their chips to me in fear...lol

I lazed around Sunday and watched the pros go at it, more fun was had..all in all a pretty low key weekend.

In Chad's blogger fantasy league I racked up the most points I have all season and I will need them heading into tonight's game. Don has Moss and NE's defense going tonight and he is about 50 points behind me. Normally I'd be happy, but you just never know with Moss and the horrible Raven's offense. Wish me luck.

Who's the turkey at the table?? Weekend Wrap-up

The mega-weekend started on Wednesday as I headed out to a neighborhood buddies house for a 'friendly' game of HORSE rotations. This is at least how it was explained to me.

What I experienced was more akin to dick slinging competitions. No worries for me. I was underfunded, but I knew how to beat this game. This is what my neighborhood game devolves to on the way to utter fonkeyness.

I should have known, yes. JewFro (no he's not Jewish and I'm not anti-Semite, he has a JewFro, get over it.) and his brother BigBalls don't have the slightest idea how to run a friendly game. Their idea of friendly is letting you keep your car, but not the title.

Sooo, as I pull up and LF is in the driveway trying to figure out how to lock his car while putting a dip in, talking on his phone, carrying a 12 pack while stumbling drunk at the same time.

I licketh my chops already.

LF goes on to tell me how lucky he is, despite being in a fight with his wife, he just got himself out of a DUI and figured poker is in order. genius

We sat down and shoot the shit for awhile, waiting for more players. LF described his awesome luck in more detail. Finally, we get 2 more neighborhood regulars, Swift and the Dutch Oven. JewFro began to dole out chips...

LF buys in for 300, JF for 200, BB for 200, and the Dutch oven and I exchange looks.

"So much for friendly", says Dutch and I agree with 100 a piece in front of us. JF started to recant, but I say, no worries, its limit, right.....well, sorta.

Now a smart poker player can excuse himself from a game he doesn't belong. A donkey who wants to play regardless ignores such possibilities and decides he can outplay the rest of the table.

We began to play 1/2 limit HORSE with $5max after the turn. After describing RAZZ for the fifth time, the game turns into HO.... which is fine by me.

Dutch busts on the second orbit of OH/8 and leaves in somewhat of a huff. I completely understand his problem, since the table is loose as hell and he didn't want (couldn't) put more money at risk.

I was playing frogs ass tight and had scooped a pretty nice OH8 pot, and bluffed a hold'em pot to get roughly 3x my starting stack.

3 more players I've never played with before showed up and we began playing Pot-limit hold'em and OH/8 dealer's choice.

Long story I get stacked in OH8 when my nut flush gets boated on the river. JF stakes me another 200 and I have to go back to building mode. Meanwhile LF has played nearly every pot dealt and had been raising like a maniac. He LF'ed into a huge stack, and I knew I could get my chips back from him.

By the end of the night I had 700 in front of me and LF was into JF for a grand. Crazy fucker I tell you.

Of course the house can't pay me at the end of the night as LF has mortgaged the game. I'm cool about it though as I know they are good for it and settle for half of my profit for the time being. I looked at my phone and realized we had played till 5Am..ugh.

I got myself a snack and went home. The wife was sweet enough to let me sleep till about 10AM. (little did I know that she had stayed up till 4am with her sister)

I managed to make it through 2 T-Day dinners with my wits intact .

I got a little bit of cards in on Bodog over the weekend. I started playing $25 max tables, which ain't so smart when you have a $100 to play poker with. I got stacked twice in short succession (KK vs AA) (AK vs QQ - AKQflop)

So I moved down to the $10 max tables and built it back up to 75 in a few short sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I've REALLY had to adjust my play at Bodog, which I think is good overall, these tables are sooo juicy so far.

Saturday morning we drove up to Watkinsville to visit my uncle who is a very talented potter. He has a yearly show that we always make it to. Usually my sister and brother are there with their kids. So it another chance of all of us to get together. Since my brother moved to Phoenix though, he was absent.

Saturday afternoon was a great day football wise as my 2 bets on GA and Kentucky came through. My sister and the rest of her crew came over to play and watch the games.

I also won my week of my college football pick'em league with 14/20 against the number. This ties me with the wins leader (3) and puts me 2 points behind in the season standings.

Sunday was a fine day of relaxing mixed with cleaning. I celebrated by grilling a couple bone in rib-eye. The quality wasnt the greatest, so I dry rubbed them with a bit of red pepper, cayenne and sea salt. Turned out not so bad, I'm gonna turn the left overs into some kick ass fajitas, I tell you what.

Eventually, I will get back on FT for the end of the BBT2 and see if my lottery numbers hit, but for now I'm enjoying a bit of a break.

I hope you all had a safe and relaxing break, see you around.

Freerollin!

Nothing quite beats the feeling of freerolling into the cash, or taking enough profit that your initial investment is covered.

I have been in a College Football pick contest with 9-11 of my buddies for the past 3 years. We pay $20 a week, winner takes all, per week for 14 weeks. We reserve a little cash for the overall winner and the 'key pick' winner. We take 3 key picks per week, the person with the most key picks at the end of the season gets the extra $.

This week I took my second win of the season! I'm also leading the league with a record of 67-53 and now I'm freerolling the rest of the way....good stuff.

I also got a nice little jump last night on the virtual felt, taking down a $5+.50 45-person ($80 profit) and following that up with a $11+1 sng for a $37.50 profit.

Feels good.

I'm heading out to the city so nice they named it twice at the crack of freaking dawn and will meet up with some old and new friends. Should be a good time.

Embarrasing...

I had to turn the TV off watching the Vick: Town Forum the other day. Its embarrasing to live in the same city as the people who would stand up and support this guy. Then THIS comes along and I am just befuddled. I honestly can't believe someone could be as ignorant as Michael Vick.

It's truly sad at this point, he has become the next Mike Tyson rather than the man who could redefine the quarterback position. sad sad sad.... You know its reached epic proportions when Terrence Moore has left your corner.

It's a sad state of affairs when you start to agreee with this guy:

Moving along, I'm in the middle of a bad run on FT, and am staying a head on the little play I have at PS. Here's a screenshot of my spreadsheets in case you are interested.

Wednesday and Thursday, I felt the old aggro-donk bug creeping in and taking over. I should have taken a break and didn't. Bad news

I also broke my bankroll limitations for the MOOK. People love calling down crap in the MOOK and I played more aggressively than I should have.

At least recently I'm becoming aware of my mental state when I'm in a tourney, now I just need to adjust my play against my own stupidity sometimes.

I hope you all have a great weekend, we'll see ya soon.

Weekend Update and Footballpaloosa

I'm fargin beat. I've been up since 4am Yesterday morning.

Here's what I was able to write today:

A little late, but hey, I'm a busy dude.

I'm writing this on a Delta flight to New York City at 8AM. I got up this morning at 4:15 to get to the airport and check in. I'm flying back tonight (hopefully), so I won't get a change to bug any of the NY bloggers while I'm here.

I gotta tell you, I had a pretty damn goot weekend. I took Friday off, but ended up working for most of the morning on stupid crap that only I am capable of doing properly.....long story short, I tried to let my sysadmin take care of something once, and even with DETAILED instructions, it managed to get effed up. So in the sake of my sanity, I just buckled in and did it.

One thing that really chaps my ass is that I can completely do my job from home if I didn't have the parade of morons who come to me with stupid questions and issues. I digress...

Friday night the wife went out and I played cards/donated money for the evening. The duality of loving/hating the donkament rides high when I donate 20 bucks only to get called all in by AK vs JJ on a flop that completely missed. weeeee

Saturday we dropped the kids off at a party and had a great lunch and a few beers. I got a taste of the Sierra Nevada anniversary and the obligitory Dogfishhead 60 Minute IPA. YUUUUM

After that we got the kids and went home to clean and watch football. I watched a good bit of BigBlew getting manhandled by ASU, and the first bit of the GATech/Notre Dame game.

The wife and I had our own party to go to, so we had to clean up a bit for the babysitter. We took the kids for a bit. They got to sing some kereoke with the neighbors kids and we ate some fried chicken, corn on the cob and greens. woot.

I love some good cookin' Eventually the wife took the kids home and came back for the 'adult' part of the party, which consisted of about 10 people standing around drinking a bottle of patron and shooting the shit in the kitchen.

Do all parties devolve to highschool drunkfests for you too?? I wasn't too in to it and neither was the wife, so we went home fairly early and had a nice night lounging on the porch chatting it up.

Sunday morning we nearly got up for church, but decided we were on vacation and skipped it. I made a nice big breakfast for the family and we took it easy in the AM.

Around 2 we took the kids up to the pool which was surprisingly nearly empty. They played for a good bit, and some of our friends joined. My son was unapologetically pummeled by the gaggle of girls. Secretly I think he liked it.

Sunday afternoon I celebrated my first weeks win in the College football pool. I totally decimated the field with 15/20 against the number this weekend!! That was good for 2 bills. I also won a little on the GA who manhandled ooooosssssuuuu.

Monday we drove up to Athens to celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday. I also got to see my brother and sister. We all got to witness a nice little manic episode from my Aunt. Good times were had by all, but the whole day was shot.

Thats about it in a nutshell, fun was had things were done, drinks were consumed. That's about all you can ask from a holiday weekend.

It is now 8:07PM and I am in the air somewhere between Baltimore and Atlanta. I managed to get what I could done in NY and hopped an early flight. Maybe now I wont miss my Fantasy Draft with the bloggers. ..Here's to hope.

By the way, the NFL starts tomorrow, so if you wanna play int the ghey blogger (and riverchasers) Pick'em league then JOIN DAMMIT and send me 10 bucks. Follow the links below. When I decide to wake up I will list who has paid on the pickem site.
