The good news is that I'm not broken, although I won't be running the 40 anytime soon.
I have two BS injuries on my right leg. Turf toe and a Bone bruise. Yeah, both injuries make it a little difficult to walk, but the knee is feeling a little better already. The entire posterior side of my Tibia
is bleeding a bit with a micro fracture or two. Then all the awkward weight I'm putting on my foot travels through the metatarsal in which I have turf toe.
Sounds like a party eh? At least I don't require surgery. I should be back in bidness within 3 months.

CODA
Sorry for the delay, I have been in various states of druggedness and sleep for the better part of 2 weeks now. I get my MRI results tomorrow and have been in pain for too darn long.
The source of my pain and misery is obviously my own damn fault. I took a few liberties with a Jet ski that I was not fully in tune with and managed to flip the thing over as I was taking a hard left turn.
I leaned heavily into the turn, but the wind and choppy water threw me a challenge. At the apex of the turn my right knee finally gave way under the torque. As I fell off, my toe managed to get a little stuck in the rail and helped to pull my leg a little further away from my body.
I was in horrible pain and struggling to get the Jetski turned back over. My mind went back to Gary's "its real damn hard to turn these things over" statement and cursed myself for being a moran.
I did manage to get the thing tipped over, but it was waterlogged by that time and Gary Hasslehoff was on the way. Now I imagined myself in the hospital in west egypt Oklahoma signing over a $xxxx.xx to Gary for a jetski.
Thanks to some very helpful East Cobb locals we got the Jetski pulled onto the trailer, drained it, and sent it on its merry way.
We returned to the house and got ready for deer burgers. I just about OD'd on pain killers, slept through most of dinner, then held it together long enough to split the lake tournament with surf.
Afterwards we played a little cash game where I played my usual loosish game and amassed a pretty healthy stack. Two hands i remember was sucking out vs Maudie (or Special K) with J6o, and pushing with 77 preflop geting called by SpecialK and his AK. He flopped broadway and I runner runnered a FH. Good times.
That would be the last winning poker for me for the trip.
I sucked it up and limped around the rest of the visit, it was really painful, but the drinks were flowing. Truly my favorite time of the trip was sitting around the lakehouse on Saturday night, drinking copius amounts of whiskey and just chatting with the boys. That's the stuff you can not remanufacture. No matter how hard you try.
Saturday was the big tourney, and I was raring to go. Unfortunately a 8 hour sit and go doesnt necessarily fit my nature and I went down in 6th place. I donated another 2 buyins in the cash game playing my particular style of drunken donery, but you just can't buy that kind of fun in my opinion.
I do have some pictues on flickr, if you want to see them. I stole some from kat too. I have to add you as a freind to see the pics, so drop me a line or leave a comment if you want.
Wish me luck at the Doctor tomorrow and you have yourself a good weekend!
Cheers.

Okie Vegas gets skidoooo'd.
Hi guys,
I'll give you a summary of what I can remember from the weekend. I'm not sure how long this will be so bear with me.
Thursday morning I had to ride into work with the wife. Her minivan has had its final problem and I refused to fix it.
I got to the airport a little early so I obviously found the nearest bar and camped out for a few. I finished a few beers and went to the gate with about 30 minutes to spare. I figured I would plug on the laptop and watch a bit of my movie before I got on the plane. Wouldn't you know it, my dumb ass managed to forget the fucking plug to my laptop (again).
I tried to not let it bother me, last year I was able to find a CompUSA to get a new plug. Somehow I managed to forget that CompUSA went out of business.
I had a non eventful flight in which my battery died. I landed and came down the stealthy side of the terminal, but Gary had a bead on me from way down.
Everyone came out to get me, which was pretty cool. For the first time I met Joanada, Buddy, and Surf's wife 'peaches' as she was dubbed by OOOSSSSUUUU.
Off we went OZZIES to meet Ms Maudie and to partake in the worlds best chicken fried steak. This served as a great stomach base for the next 24hrs or so.
The whole gang caravan'd to Riverwind casino, where we all sat down for a little freindly 1/2. My high water mark was about 310, but I managed to piss almost all that away by 6pm rolled around. By then everyone was ready to hit the lake, except for MsMaudie who stole my mojo and ran her 2nd buy in up to about 5.
We hit the crows nest and Buddy was attacked by a paddle wielding maniac. I personally think she took it easy on him. I managed to find myself lying in the grass at one point and dumping IT from the golf cart at another. I can't say I didn't enjoy that a little.
Tragedy tried desperately to get out of our bet around 4am, but when I wouldn't let him, he went inside topass out throw up for an hour or so and left me alone, resulting in his disputable 'win' of our last longer.
Friday morning I felt fairly human, we awaited the return of MsMaudie and the intro to SpecialK, fresh from Iraq.
OSU entertianed us for a good bit by his kitty hunting prowess, but finally the gang was assembled and we were ready to hit the lake.
Tomorrow I'll enthrall you with my death defying antics on the JetSki as well as the poker table... stay tuned.
I'm done for now..I'll finish up with a hearty thanks to all those who planned, helped and came to this little event. It is certainly my cup of tea.

Full Disclosure
My brain will slowly start regurgitating memories from this weekend. It took me about as long to fly from Oklahoma as it did for Surf and Peaches to drive. YAY.
At least I didn't get stuck in Washington like poor little Kitty.
I am nursing a bit of a wound, the doctor says I most likely tore my ACL. I go to get an MRI tomorrow. For now, the meds are keeping my head even foggier than it was 3 days ago.
See you soon.

3 days
What is it about 3?
Three Days,
one of my favorite songs.
3 Feet High and Rising, featuring The Magic Number is one of the best hip hop albums ever made. Ironically(?) De La Soul (3 words) featured 3 MC's.
Luck (usually bad) comes in 3's
Book of Threes.
We three Kings, 3 wise men, Number three, the holy trinity...
Famous people die in threes.. See Jim McKay, Tim Russert, George Carlin
Has anyone ever told you that lighting a third cigarette on one match is bad luck?
3rd time is a charm.
3 strikes and you are out.
Don't even get me started on 23....
In not 3 but 2 days I'll be meeting the Okie Vegas crew at the Airport. woooooot!

I left my wallet in EL Segundo
Looky here.
I had to put my disappointment behind me for not being able to play poker at WSP. I hope everything is cool with Jamie. I know there's bit of added pressure to perform lately, I'm there too.
As fate would have it, I bumped into Alceste on my way back from lunch. Totally random. He happens to work in the Financial District and was out to get some soup. I mentioned that I had plans with HoP for dinner and invited him to come along.
Fast forward a few hours and I arrive at Baby Bo's. We settle in to the bar and Jordan suggests a pitcher of sangria. I'm totally cool with sangria even though I know the sugar is gonna give me a headache. But this is good stuff, not just red wine, sugar and fruit.
I should have been tipped off when it took about 5-10 minutes to make the pitcher, but I figured, hey its probably like 15 bucks or so. After another pitcher and a shot of Patron I call for the tab and our Bar bill was over a Frankin....DOH, that's New York for ya.
We three bloggers be chewed the fat and our food for a good solid hour or so. I was less than impressed with their mole, but it was tasty enough. We said our goodbyes around 8:45.
I decided to walk the 10 blocks in the direction of my hotel to see if I could find some free wi-fi and a beer. Jordan had mentioned the SKILLZ series at dinner and with all the card talk we had, I was jonesing.
My first option after walking the 10 damn blocks was my hotel. I prodded the front desk for a better internet connection but they were hopless. Wireles only and it BLEW. She mentioned a 'lounge' on the 10th floor so I figured it wouldnt hurt to check it out.
I walk into the 'lounge' and see a few tables, 2 computers and ... nothing. I guess my definition of a louge involves cigars, scotch and scantily clad female singers on a piano. Theirs did not.
I popped back out to the street and went across to Fitzgeralds. Colin was oh so helpful getting me logged in to their wireless and hooking me up with a beer. I settled down to a table near the wall, and more importantly an outlet.
I made it into the Skills tourney and also opened up Pokerstars, I had my gamboool on and played way too many O/8 hands to remember. I fluctuated between first and last then flamed out.
I played all over the place on PS, sticking with 'other games' HORSE and O/8.
I made a nice little double + with this hand:
PokerStars Game #18521285215: Omaha Hi/Lo Pot Limit ($3/$6) - 2008/07/01 - 22:43:57 (ET)

You guys have a safe and happy 4th of July!!

An inch
Looking out the window upon the East River and waiving to my friend in Brooklyn I contemplate the sliver of space that reminds me I'm not drowning in buildings and masses of people.
The water is soothing, even though the boats and helicopters pass at regular intervals. The water reminds me that everything must keep moving or it sinks. A tourist boat passes on its way to the Brooklyn bridge. Arteries upon arteries feeding the muscle of American Business. Are the arteries too clogged with minutiae to sustain this wave of uncertainty?
I passed all the gray businessmen on the way to Wall Street. They slink when they walk like alligators, not like the proud cocks they once were. Are they the key? I'd like to think not, that our being as Americans aren't tied up in the monotony of business. What are we serving as the greatest source of economic and military power? It can all fall like a house of cards and no one wants to acknowledge it.
I'm not really sure why I decided to get gloomy all the sudden, but I feel anxious, even scared that it could all just fall down. I wonder what I've built, what I've done that matters...
For whatever reason my mind is stuck on Valerie's letter in V for Vendetta:
I imagine I'll die quite soon. It is strange that my life should end in such a terrible place. But for three years I had roses and I apologized to nobody. I shall die here. Every inch of me shall perish.
Except one.
An inch. It's small and it's fragile and it's the only thing in the world that's worth having. We must never lose it, or sell it, or give it away. We must never let them take it from us.
