On another note in the long line of my stupidity, I forgot to unregister from the Big Game last night. I ended up outlasting half of the field by not even being there. Methinks I did better than I would have by playing..
At least it only cost me 8.70.

Hangover helper
Whenever I get together with my cousin Stewart we find trouble. We joke quite often that we are brothers from another mother. When we get together we drink FAR too much, gamble on whatever we can think of and generally do everything possible to completely piss off our respective spouses.
Stew had some friends coming over for the Shamrock -Le fight and some poker and I made myself available obviously. COMCAST SUCKS MONKEY BALLS and we never got the fight on the TV.
SO we played some $10 sit-n-goes and I won or split all 5 of them. Pool and darts did not go as well for me though....
After the fight was long over we managed to find a bootleg of it and play it on my laptop, it looked like a really good match and I thought Shamrock was wearing Le down before he broke his wrist.
My cousin and I ended up playing heads up till about 5 am this morning. He pwns me....
The wife was less than pleased when I rolled in this morning, but she didn't punish me too hard, though I am NOT gonna be able to make the BIG GAME tonight for obvious reasons.
I decided to make myself some b-fast this morning to try and rid myself of the pain of whey too many beers. Nothing sops up the al-key-hol like grease and here's the play by play of the cure...
3 eggs, salt, pepper, a dollop of sour cream, and a dash of red pepper. Three luscious pieces of maple thick sliced bacon and a healthy portion of extra sharp cheddar cheese.
I cook my eggs well, using about half of the grease from the cooked bacon. Like sham says, bacon is life.
Add the cheese and bacon to the eggs.
Turn it over and cook for a few minutes more.
Add a dollop of picante and sour cream to the finished product, with copious amounts of coffee and a slug of OJ and you have a little slice of heaven.
Good luck in the Big Game everyone.

PLO Power
Obviously only a donk can win a PLO tournament.
Pauly managed to somehow split his attention between the NCAA tourney and PLO. He game to my table as a huge stack, but got sucked out upon near the bubble. I parlayed 2 redonkulous suckouts of my own and overcame a 80/20 chip disadvantage heads up to take this mother down.....
Thats my second time playing and my second cash (2nd place)....maybe I should make time on Saturdays more often...

Horse 4K Final table
Poker for the advanced
...donkey.
Here's a fun little hand that I played near the mid stages of today's 24k.
Villain had been playing like a cracked out 7 year old willing to call huge raises with the 2nd or 3rd best hand and sucking out. I was looking for the perfect situation to stack him when this came up. Keep in mind, up until this point I have played about 4 or 5 hands and shown down once.
Full Tilt Poker Game #5804223762: $24,000 Guarantee (43479335), Table 43 - 80/160 - No Limit Hold'em - 15:22:05 ET - 2008/03/27

Seat 5: iam23skidoo (4,545)
LUCKY-LOCKIE posts the small blind of 80
iam23skidoo posts the big blind of 160

*** HOLE CARDS ***

iam23skidoo checks @Warning: For advanced players only, limping the hammer in the BB it the ultimate in strength! It worked in the MATH for me on Monday :)
*** FLOP *** [Js 7s 3c] I know he will call any pair or draw, so I might as well... iam23skidoo bets 160
LUCKY-LOCKIE calls 160
*** TURN *** [Js 7s 3c] [9h] Another card I shouldn't be afraid of. This guy must have spades.
LUCKY-LOCKIE checks
iam23skidoo bets 480
LUCKY-LOCKIE calls 480 Uh oh, who's getting played here now???
*** RIVER *** [Js 7s 3c 9h] [2h] BINGO!!!!
LUCKY-LOCKIE checks

Seat 4: LUCKY-LOCKIE (small blind) mucked [9c As] - a pair of Nines Awesome, second pair top kicker is goot!!!
Unfortunately I went out about 50 before the bubble after getting Kings cracked by A6 sooooted. (not my friend lockie)

I just might get some sleep tonight...
I'll start off this post with a PHOD
I've got no notes on the villain as he has just joined the table. Keep in mind I'm a 6-max noob. I don't like 6-max for some reason.
Full Tilt Poker Game #5788283456: Table Kings (6 max) - $0.50/$1 - No Limit Hold'em - 8:42:04 ET - 2008/03/26
Seat 1: iam23skidoo ($83)
Seat 2: twichild ($100)
Leapaboard posts the small blind of $0.50
iam23skidoo posts the big blind of $1
twichild posts $1
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to iam23skidoo [Th Td]
twichild checks
Konstantin82 calls $1
iam23skidoo raises to $4
twichild raises to $9
iam23skidoo raises to $19
twichild calls $10
So villain check re-raises then calls my re-re-raise. Gotta be AK right? AA,KK pushes there, it could be QQ or JJ but...
*** FLOP *** [5h Qh Tc]
iam23skidoo bets $25
What do you think of this bet? Do I just push here or continue to fear QQ? I don't want to give any draw odds to call.
twichild raises to $81, and is all in
iam23skidoo calls $39, and is all in
twichild shows [Jd Ac] Uh JACKACE?
iam23skidoo shows [Th Td]
*** TURN *** [5h Qh Tc] [8c]
*** RIVER *** [5h Qh Tc 8c] [Kc] GTFO!!
twichild shows a straight, Ace high
iam23skidoo shows three of a kind, Tens
twichild wins the pot ($164.50) with a straight, Ace high
So did I just get toasted by a toaster or what? Did I make a mistake preflop?
I'm tired....I've been playing way too much poker lately.
Last night I tried playing the skillz, the bodonk and a $75 token race at the same time. I should have known better.
Everything about last night was non-conducive to playing. I played a little hooky, leaving work at 12:30 and grabbing lunch with a buddy of mine. A few beers later, and I'm at TacoMac playing HORSE and $11 SNG's with Kuro, downing more beers. Nothing is working online and I go through serious frustration in all of the games.
So I get home, we take the kids out to eat since we are too lazy/busy to cook and frankly its been awhile since we've been out. We have a nice meal, then get home and get the kids in bed.
After all that, attempting to divide my attention between 3 games was not the most sound decision. Lesson learned.
So I log on this AM to play a few hands before work and run into the hand above. I'm thinking about taking the night off.
If i get home before daylight, I just might get some sleep tonight.

Coming clean.
As I mentioned before, I needed a spiritual cleansing of sorts on Full Tilt. I needed to change my attitude, and the donkey wasn't cutting it.
I did what any spoiled child would do, I picked up my toys and went home.
But I came back, the donkey could not be held at bay, only placated. I'll let those of you who don't already know that I am HAGBARD_III on FT and you can go ahead and smack yourself for folding to a big turn bet cause you didn't know me.
I had already begun letting the cat out of the bag last night, so I figured I might as well open it up.
It occured to me that some people might take offence at my changing names, may even forward the information to Full Tilt so they can suspend me if they determine I have violated their TOC.
I can accept that if need be. I didn't really intend to misrepresent myself, I just wanted to play free from the stigma of my persona. It was fun for a while and totally worth it. I just wanted my fellow bloggers and readers to know and if HAGBARD has to disappear and iam23skidoo returns, you won't be dealing with the same donkey.
That is all.

Definition of ignomy.
When the worst poker player ever calls you a donator.
23skiddoo
1. I am friends with you because you are a bigger donator than I am. Bigger? I sure hope not.
2. I associate you with skiddoo which I in turn associate with some cosmic marshmallow being that goes around spreading gooey goodness. Makes sense.
3. I like that you think I am kidding when I call you a donator. OK, so maybe you ARE kidding. I mean... come on!
4. My latest memory of you is you running over the 200/NL blogger table and sucking out on MiamiDon with AK vs KK all in. It was truly funny. Good times, good times. Nothing pleases me more than tilting Don and several select others, including yourself.
5. Who is the best Atlanta Blogger player in your opinion? Can't argue with Surf, although Kuro would be a great choice as well.

Nothing for a man to do but sit around and think.
I tried to come up with a title that described my current state and ended up with the opposite.
After a 2 day trip to NY which saw me unloading my hard earned cash on the friendly folks at WSP, making a really stupid deal with Jamie for 2 cases of chips, and surviving on about 8 hours of sleep I came home to more chaos, work tilt and home chores up the wazzoo.
Such is the life of your friendly neighborhood donk.
Speaking of neighborhood, the boys and I will be playing cards at the clubhouse tonight for my monthly game. Once again I'll try to run 2 tourneys and a cash game while avoiding the temptation to stay out until 4AM. If any ATLiens want to come up, then drop me a line.
I haven't played much NLHE this week, so I'm excited to jump in to a juicy game, I'm hoping tonight works out like recent Neighborhood games and supplies me with some booty for my poker coffers.
So I don't really have anything to say, same as usual. Have a good week end folks! I think I'll try and win the MegaMillions tonight...that would be pretty cool.

A rare quiet Saturday
My wife had a friend and her kids in town for the weekend, and I reluctantly got hopping around 9am to clean up the house.
My wife's friend came over with some other kids we both know, then the women gathered and cackled about whatever it is they talk about. I was given an excuse to be absent. I gathered up my laptop, a couple snacks and a coke, sauntered upstairs and had a nice relaxing afternoon playing poker and listening to iTunes.
Four o'clock rolled around and I luckily remembered Saturday's with DrPauly on PokerStars, a tourney I'm not usually able to play.
For the first hour or so, I was still playing in 2 FT tourneys so I didn't pay too much attention.
Fast forward 2 more hours and I was locked into a final table battle. I managed to have the chip lead coming into heads up, but lost 2 pretty horrible hands and didn't make much of a fight of it.
I don't play much Omaha High, so I stuck with playing Aces, Kings, Queens, and some sooted connector options. When the blinds were getting big I only played position and premium hold'em hands. I got gunned down by a rivered nut flush and a well hidden low straight both against premium hold'em type hands. I also played two of the steps tourneys and got a step 2 on 1 and a rebate on the other.
I'll have to give some PLO tourneys a few more tries to see if today was just a fluke.

Late Departure
I just confirmed my travel to New York on Monday. Hopefully I can horn my way into Wall Street Poker.
Jamie is a congenial and earnest host, he confirmed he has a full table, but invited me anyway.
I'll be offering my 'celebrity' commentary services for the scheduled mixed game. Hopefully I can be annoying enough to make someone give their seat to me!
Have a good weekend kids!

The Death of iam23skidoo
Yes, I'm alive but the uber-donk iam23skidoo is no more.
I have sent a request to remove iam23skidoo from Full Tilt, but make no mistake, I am still around. I needed to make a change that went beyond my name and avatar, I finally decided that a whole new poker persona is needed. So far I have had some fantastic results, so we shall see if this is for real.
I played out the rest of my FPP's at FullTilt this morning and I garnered a Token for taking down a 600 Point tourney. I played a 90 person KO tourney with my token and here's the result:
Wee, from $0 to $75.
I decided to just keep it playing and entered a Tier 3 1-table tourney. Unfortunately I blazed out in 5th.
I transferred the remainder to my chat and dial a shot buddy KAT! Cheers to you Kitty!
R.I.P. MR Donkey

Bodonkey final table #3
Did a little bit better at the final table this time, pushed JTs into A6s and missed everything to empty as a co-shortstack with Drizzz.
Drizz and empty played a really good heads-up match and Drizz was able to overcome a 5:1 chip deficit. Good stuff.
Early on I played fairly tight, and loosened up a little after the 3rd level. With 76s I called a smallish utg raise and call by MiamiDon. The flop came all spades and I check raised Don's flopped set. We eventually got the $ in and the board did not pair. I took a nice lead and stayed in the top 5 for most the night.
I took out poor PokahDave's QQ with presto, I can't remember any other specific hands other than splitting big pots with goat AK vs AK and someone else A5 vs A5 rivered straight.
I should have a pretty nice spot on the leaderboard, a win sure would be nice though.
Big thanks to Bodog for a really nice online poker tournament setup.
